Light breakable crust to 3400′. Snow is still relatively easy to ski. Skied a steep SW aspect.

Solicited 1 whumph at a false summit around 3400' as I toured the ridgetop over some pillowed snow, to peak into a north facing chute.
Low hanging clouds to about 2100' feet, blue bird above. In the single digit temperatures. Low to no wind.
Light breakable crust from the road all of the way to 3400'. Becomes very thin - a few mm's - at about 2800' and is easy skiing.
No formal tests. Less than 10cm of ski penetration in soft snow. Ski cuts and 3 skier runs on a steep Southwest aspect did not yield results.
