Observation: Turnagain

Around 2″ of new snow this morning at 1000′ until the snow began to turn to
spitting sleet in early afternoon. Around 3-4″ fell overnight/this am at 2500′.
Skies were overcast to obscured and winds light from the east (but starting to
pick up by 1pm).

Snow above 2000′ was still light and dry. However, it was beginning to get heavy
by 3pm with the warming temps.

Pit from mid-elevation (~2500′) shows that facets still rule the pack. These
faceted layers continue to produce moderate to stubborn shears. Where the pack
is less than 4 feet deep the facets are more reactive. In upper elevations, with
deeper snow depths, the facets are more stubborn and interspersed with varying
layers of wind hardened snow.
