Route & General Observations

Alders are still covered all the way to the road! Woot! Took the standard up (tricky skinning) to the first bench of the ridge around 3000/3200ft. Saw several debris piles at the base of the south face, descended the west aspect since it was 2:40ish and there was still a touch of firmer crust present on the west. Found nice corn slightly south west aspect.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Blue bird, 52 when started at the parking lot, no wind, sun was hot!

Snow surface

sun crust present on west aspect, corn on the slightly more southwest

Snowpack

No formal pits were dug. I gave up on the tricky skinning (taking too long, could have benefited from ski crampons) and decided to boot a small section at about 2700. My partner was able to skin all of it. Mostly toe to mid boot, boot pen. A handful of steps were pockets of crotch deep unsupportable snow. Snow on the bench around 3200 was only toe deep on the boot pen.
