Route & General Observations

Avalanche Rec Level 2 class with Alaska Avalanche Center. We toured from the Manitoba parking lot up to about 2350′ on Colorado, to the major hemlock band.

Weather

Sunny day with periods of fog. Calm winds from the east. Air temp of roughly 26 degrees F.

Snow surface

Fresh powder with near surface faceting. Quality skiing.

Snowpack

We dug 6 pits on S to SE aspects at 2350' on a 25 degree slope. We had multiple tests result in propagation on multiple buried surface hoar layers with ECT and PST results at 35 and 70cm of depth.
