1500′, South aspect, 18 degree slope, Broken sky, light rain, +5C, light north wind, HS 50cm, Pf 45cm, Ps
15cm. Profile site description: open clearing in forest near summer trail, aldered area
ECTPV down 40cm in wetted old facets near ground SC/Q3
When this test collapsed, group felt a whumph in surrounding area near test pit (40X40′). CTH collapsed in
same basal weakness. Snowpack isothermal, water pooling on old crust (pencil hard, breaking down in
places)mid-pack.
Many size D1-3 wet avalanches observed on all aspects, up to 5000′.
