Observer Comments

Many signs of instability: positive results on test slopes, recent avalanches, wind loading, shooting cracks, and widespread whumpfing above the weather station on surface hoar buried about 30 cm down.

Partly cloudy to clear, 20's, calm

Snow surface

Some wind scour but mostly soft new snow.

Snowpack

The buried surface hoar layer buried about 30cm deep was the layer of concern. We watched whumpfs propagate away from us as slow visible waves.
