Snow surface

Varying sizes of surface hoar on top of near surface facets from parking lot to 1900'. Surface hoar varied from 3-8mm. Several MF crusts were below the NSF and disappears around 1400'. See photos.

Snowpack

Dug a quick test pit at 1900' just above the Turnagain Pass Snotel. HS=150cm, W aspect, 20* slope, Pit depth=75cm
Snowpack was right side up. Found the 1/25 BSH down 50cm. Tests were unreactive (CTNx3.)

Could probe into soil 1cm, moist soil came out with probe at 1900'.

Test pit at 1900'. If you look closely you can see the old buried surface hoar from Christmas 50cm below the surface

Christmas (1/25) buried surface hoar found 50cm below surface was not reactive in tests.

A few small sluffs seen in steep terrain on the North aspect of Sunburst
