Snow surface

Varying sizes of surface hoar on top of near surface facets from parking lot to 1900'. Surface hoar varied from 3-8mm. Several MF crusts were below the NSF and disappears around 1400'. See photos.

Snowpack

Dug a quick test pit at 1900' just above the Turnagain Pass Snotel. HS=150cm, W aspect, 20* slope, Pit depth=75cm
Snowpack was right side up. Found the 1/25 BSH down 50cm. Tests were unreactive (CTNx3.)

Could probe into soil 1cm, moist soil came out with probe at 1900'.
