Avalanche: Seward
Location: Carter lake
Sledded into crescent lake, skinned up from there to about 2500ft, where cloud line was. Snow was good quality but flat light, with wind packed pockets. About 140cm of snow at 2500 were I dug a quick pit, no formal test but snow felt right side up minus that Thanksgiving layer still there about a foot up from ground. Otherwise just need more snow to keep covering the bush down low.
Avalanche Details
Due to flat light and clouds couldn't tell what or where it started but from debris feild it appeared to be storm/wind slab that ran from high elevation that fanned out when leaving the train trap but continuing main path to about 1800. Due to almost inch of fresh on the debris would guess it happened yesterday.
Weather
Cloud line about 2500ft, flat light down to 1200ft. Calm winds with light snow at times
Snowpack
No signs of instability in the terrain I traveled but the over spill from the steep terrain above.
