Upper 20s to low 30s, overcast, winds variable but increasing throughout day.

Location: Carter-Crescent
Carter Lake parking lot, common trail up. Carter Lake is froze up pretty good, minimal open water. Traveled through valley to Crescent Lake, which still has significant open water. No recent avalanche activity observed. Did investigate old slide, likely occurred during early December rain event. Huge debris chunks!

6” wet powder on top freeze/thaw crust, pretty good coverage. No significant surface hoar observed.
Trail going up was in pretty good shape, minimal icy spots.
