Route & General Observations

Lots of HS avalanches observed 2500 – 3500′ S – WNW aspects. some to ground, several w step downs, most appeared to be failing 2/3 – 3/4 depth of snowpack.
Clear, windless, temps dropping through day. fairly supportable (skier not dog) crust to 1550′ disappeared rapidly above that
travelled on generally Easterly aspects, small SH to 2540′.
Active Red polls & woodpeckers. followed coyote tracks

Both mid- slope and near ridge crest avalanches; S - WNW; poor structure

clear, 22* dropping to 11 during day, no wind

Snow surface

small 1.5mm SH 1200- 2500', fairly supportable crust to 1550' w just a skiff to 2cm of new snow on top transitioned quickly to no crust

Snowpack

generally 100-115 cm 1500-2500'. HS 2 pit 75cm, East aspect 24* on a planar somewhat cross stripped slope

0-8cm: 2.5mm almost completely dry facets
8-9.5: Thanksgiving MF crust w/ facets above
9.5-30cm: 4F-
30-36: Fist hard facets below remnant (Xmas?) crust
36 - 63: 1F- rounds
63-74.5: new snow, + /
74.5 - 75: light wind crust
1.5mm SH

CT 17 @ 63cm below new snow, CT 19@ground, CT21@grnd/0cm, ECTP 11 Q1 with LOTS of Energy & dropped 5mm+
