On a hike towards Byron Glacier I noticed these Northwest slopes had substantial avalanche debris
piles in their runout zones. Cornice fall is the culprit for releasing these slabs and large chunks were still intact at the avalanches toe. Weather was clear & sunny, light breeze with 40 degrees F. Last photo is of professionals testing their equipment….
