Observation: Turnagain
Location: Bertha Creek area (Gold Pan)
This report was sent in Sunday 3/10:
Huge cornice failure on the south face of Gold Pan. 1/3 of face ripped to the
rocks and the lower bowl released to ground at convexity. Must have occurred
during wind event.
FORECASTER NOTE:
This area is a southerly facing bowl in the Bertha Creek drainage area ~3,800′.
We plan to check this cornice failure and any associated avalanches triggered as
soon as visibility allows. Stay tuned.
