Observer Comments

Had a tiny whump on an isolated windslab while booting the couloir. Partner, who was in verts, did not experience this.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Blue bird, -5 at the parking lot at the start of the day, 18 when returned. Much colder in the shade.

Snow surface

A party had skied the couloir the day prior but their ski tracks (minus anti tracks on the couloir exit and the valley skin track) were not visible, nor was their boot pack due to wind. Snow was variable from 6-8inch soft windslabs, to firm patches, to soft carvable snow. Booting was easy as snow was supportable and firm. A section 3/4th the way up we encountered a 6-8 inch softwind slab on top of unsupportable snow.

Snowpack

Did not dig a formal pit
