Tender conditions below tree line.
The wind probably didn’t knock down the facets before shallow wind slabs started forming. Only one test slope had enough slope angle to slide a very short distance. Propagation and spider webbing on low angle slopes was impressive. Variable, often upside down snow and quite a few drifts hard enough to stop me in my tracks made for less than ideal turning conditions.
