Alaska Guide Collective Avy 2 class. Skinned 2 miles up Little Su from Gold Mint TH. Climbed to 2800’ on variable wind crust, NE aspect of Arkose ridge.

Increasing clouds. Light winds out of the east in the valley. Temperature 21F.

Snow surface

Variable wind slab up to 20 cm with good facet skiing interspersed between crusts.

Snowpack

6 snow pits dug at 2800’ NE aspect.
0-20 cm pencil hardness wind slab above variable facets and crusts.
In greater than 15cm wind slab: ECTP 15 below the slab
In less than 15cm slab: ECTX
