Skinned up the creek at Arctic Valley to the saddle between Rendezvous and Gordon Lyon. Right turn up and over Rendezvous and down under Chair 2. Highly variable conditions, found wind slabs, sastrugi, and soft snow.

Avalanche Details

Wind slab deposited along the east lip of this popular gully. Crown spanned the width of the gully at the top, and propagated along the east edge of the slab, clearing out the entire gully.
2-3 feet thick at the crown, knife hard wind slab on top of 2-3 inches of 1mm facets at the ground.
Slab failed on a weak layer between wind slabs, and stepped down to basal facets.
