Skied south facing slopes, south of the arctic valley ski area. Triggered about 8 collapses and whoompfs in clearly wind loaded and pillowed areas, while breaking trail. No avalanches triggered, but could feel the area around me collapse and move downhill one inch. So keeping slope angle relatively low was key.
The collapses were about 10″ down in the snowpack. Weather around -4c. There was 6″ of soft snow, on a soft 1″ breakable crust, on top of the previous week’s soft cold powder.
