Route & General Observations

We skied up the resort area to the ridge line.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Broken clouds some low clouds over area peaks. Consistent 10 mph wind early this morning.

Snow surface

Wind effect over all surfaces. Up-tracks and downhill turn tracks were mostly filled in with drifted snow. Soft wind crust in many places ranging from 1” to 4” in depth on top of soft remaining snow. Overall, snow still soft but a bit dense from all the wind.

Snowpack

Total snow height around 16” with less on ridge top. Small slabs breaking around our skis. Couldn’t get these slabs to really move with ski cuts and small jumps.
