Route & General Observations

Climbed up the road a bit then split lookers left across the gully and up onto the low benches below April Bowl. Stopped and dug a pit on the highest of these. Turned around there. Lots of soft, new snow made for very nice low angle turns. Lots of big wumphing throughout the climb even on low angle.

About 0C at 9:30am, cooling off gradually throughout the day. Negligeble wind but some signs of wind loading/scouring.

About 80cm snowpack. 1st melt freeze crust 45cm down. 2nd crust 52cm down. Soft snow transitioning to rounded basal facets below that. About 2 degrees C warmer at the base than at the surface. ECTN 13 Q2 (top layer of fresh snow on top of 1st crust. ECTP 19 Q2 (failed at the basal facet layer).
