Route & General Observations

Witnessed a nasty slide today while watching some skiers hit a south facing face. The skier that triggered the avalanche was able to ski out, but his buddy that was down below filming got smacked pretty hard and was buried 50 yards away from his original spot. We located him and it was a successful avalanche rescue with minimal injuries.

Forecaster Comments

The skier triggered avalanche sympathetically triggered a separate avalanche (lookers left) at 3:23pm. The camera man was sitting on his snowmachine and got carried and fully buried under his machine by the first avalanche. The victim was dug out promptly within a minute and sustained minor injuries. The location is not exact and is not in April Bowl but is on the Willow side of HP on what we believe to be a WSW aspect.
