High clouds streaming in from the West. Winds were light from the South. No new snow.
We found 2-3mm surface hoar from Valley bottom to ridge tops. Appeared to be mostly laid down and/ or sitting on soft faceted snow. Ski quality was very good!
2200': HS = 45cm
3600': HS = 90cm. Mid-November buried surface hoar present 30cm below the surface (ECTN18). Overall the snowpack was right side up with the top 30cm very loose and faceted out. The bottom 20 cm of the snowpack was moist (rounded grains) in this pit.
2-3mm surface hoar at 3600' on Sunburst. Generally laid down and resting on softer snow which bodes well for the next storm approaching.
Alder beginning to lay down in the Sunburst Meadow. Sure could use another storm to bury these proper!
