Route & General Observations

NE FACE 4068 (right above road):

Constant winds of about 10 mph gusts to 20-25 mph from SSE. Observed flagging on ridge lines, and even a snow dust devil. Snow surface had some icy supportable crust sections, with larger sections of surface facets or soft fresh 1 – 6 cm thick windslab.

Just lee of the E Ridge 4068, triggered 3-4m long shooting cracks on a 20 – 30cm thick windslab.

VALLEY OF SIN:
Toured a little ways into the valley staying on N aspects. Wind was a lot stronger here, constant 10-15 mph with some gusts to 30-35 mph, coming from SW. Snow surface varied between firm and scoured, soft fresh 1-10cm thick wind slabs, and in protected areas softer facets or settled snow: Predominantly soft.

Air temp estimated to be between 23-27 degrees Fahrenheit.
