As of late December, 2021 both of the Turnagain Pass 'Are You Beeping' signs, funded through a ConocoPhillips grant, have been installed. Yay!! One is just outside the motorized parking lot and the other is just outside the Tincan parking lot. These signs are solar powered and operate an automated avalanche beacon checker. Ever wondered where exactly certain winter use boundaries lie on the Kenai? For example, where are the lines between the motorized and non-motorized zones? Check it out! The Chugach National Forest has just come out with a great tool for winter recreationalists. It's all free, you simply use the Avenza app and download the map!
