SAAW – Southcentral Alaska Avalanche Workshop – Nov. 13

Join us at Hilltop Ski Area on November 13 for the annual Southcentral Alaska Avalanche Workshop. The Chugach National Forest Avalanche Center, Alaska Avalanche School, Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center, and the American Avalanche Association host a gathering of snow professionals for a day of learning, presentation, discussion, and networking each fall in early November. The Way Out – Thursday, Oct. 15 Matchstick Productions Ski Movie Fundraiser

Join us at 7pm at West High School in Anchorage on October 15 for a showing of "The Way Out" - a Matchstick Productions ski movie presented locally by Rossignol. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. This fundraiser will support both the Alaska Avalanche School and the Friends of the Chugach National Forest Avalanche Center.

Snow Stories 8.0 ~ October 22, Presented by Friends of the Chugach Avalanche Center

The 8th annual Snow Stories fundraiser will feature an amazing lineup of storytellers back on the stage front and center at Bear Tooth Theatrepub! Forecasters, friends, and speakers will be on the big stage! Anticipate an evening of lessons learned, adventure, and camaraderie. Expect to laugh, cry and learn something new. 2026 – 2027 Avalanche Education Scholarship Applications are open!

We are now seeking qulaified candidates for the 2026/27 CNFAC Internship! Our intership program has been a key part of the CNFAC operation, providing emerging professionals with an opportunit to develop skills and move towards a carreer in the snow and avalanche world.
