Route & General Observations

Road Obs and Whimpy Bowl via 16 Mile Lot

Roses: Fun skiing above 3300ft and sunshine
Thorns: Rain Crust below 3300ft and falling in the creek twice

Snow surfaces were a mixed bag of rain crusts, sastrugi, powder, wind board. The snowpack is generally moist with the ground still quite moist. Decent skiing to be had above 3300ft. The creeks are still open. No formal instability test were performed.

Observer Comments

There were no glaring signs of instability on today's tour. No whumphing, cracking, or shooting cracks. Small, shallow loose wet on sun exposed slopes in the afternoon. Old shallow storm storm slabs were evident. Glide avalanches were present.

Snow surfaces were a mixed bag of rain crusts, sastrugi, powder, wind board. Rain crust below was mostly unsupportable to skier weight.
Decent skiing to be had above 3300ft. There is about 7cm of settled pow above 3300ft. The creeks are still open. No formal instability test were performed. Sun significantly warming solar aspects.

Snowpack

The snowpack is generally moist with the ground still quite moist. Decent skiing to be had above 3300ft. The creeks are still open. No formal instability test were performed. No signs of current instability were noted on today's tour.
