Route & General Observations

Went for a short tour in up thousand dollar run. We stopped at 3900′ feet and did a few short laps down to the flats. Very poor light made for tricky riding conditions.

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Trace new snow. We found a single ski and it had no new snow on it.
3900' Thousand dollar ridge @ 10:30am 25°F calm S-1

Snow surface

Lots of tracks on the lower ridge with some lower density surface snow. The ski quality was fair even in the flat light. Tundra and grass could be sticking out through the snowpack near ridge tops.

Snowpack

We conducted no formal stability tests. Ski pole probes showed that the poor structure is persisting at mid elevations.
