Skinned to Gold Cord Lake from Independence PL. Ascended slope E of Gold Cord Lake to basin above. Obvious evidence of new wind crusts from previous days winds.

2 inches recycled powder on 2 cm wind crust.

Snow pit information: 2 cm wind crust sitting on top of 8 cm facet on top of 140 cm block of 1 finger hardness with 2-3 varied layers of thin ice crust.
