Skinned up from Independence mine parking lot through the rolling hills to the Ray Wallace chutes. Generally pretty hard (Fist) snow. Ski pen around 2-4″. Ski pole pen with a LOT of force was around 2′. Saw no signs of avy. Rain crust Little bit here and there toward the back of the bowl.

No new snow, wind was light in valley, probably 10mph on top. Temp was around freezing, possibly higher.
Settled powder 3' deep. Fist hardness with a couple small layers of 4F.
Seemed stable from CTX and observations. Hiked half way up one of Ray Wallace chutes and had good turns.
