Route & General Observations

I went out skiing today at the Porcupine meadows.  Just before the bench where it flattens out, there was a little avalanche.  The aspect was just a little south of due east and I measured the bed surface angle at 36 degrees.  It was about 25 feet across.

The crown was about 8″ and it appeared to be a storm slab that ran along the old melt/freeze/weird rain crust.

On the way up we observed small collapses especially around the trees.
