Route & General Observations

Skinned up from Independence Bowl Parking Lot over terminal moraine to Rae-Wallace Bowl and on up SW Ridge of Microdot to Picnic Bench at 4200′ eleva.

Weather

Ovcst skies with moments of brightening. Visibility, in general, was adequate to see snow surface variations. Winds: 2G9 from W, Temp 15F (Marmot Wx Sta.).

Snow surface

30 cm new snow, light and dry on raincrust.

Snowpack

Total depth at Picnic Bench (4200') was 120 cm with top 30 cm fresh (multiple measurements). No evidence of recent slides or instability.
