Overcast with lots of moments of obscured. Hatch Peak was sitting inside the cloud most of the morning making visibility like that inside of a ping pong ball. Winds were calm. Temp 15F, 22 at parking lot.

Location: N shoulder Hatch Peak
Skinned up Road and took in the whole devastation of the glide cycle, now just barely filled in on all aspects. The wind had blown from West to East overnight through the pass, causing the added variation of wind features mixed in with filled in glide cracks.
Weather
Snow surface
30 cms of light dry snow, with wind press closer to the pass and scouring along the ridge, on top of supportable crust. At lower elevations, you could feel old tracks under the new. Upper elevations skied well.
Snowpack
Dug a pit while we waited for viz. Varying heights of snow due to drift around 4240 ft. HS ranged from 90-170 in just a 10 meter zone.
Pit was North facing, 4240 ft., 18 degree slope with an obvious melt freeze crust 38 cms down and the rest of the pack pretty solidly rounds. Only got one result on the crust which was non notable: CT25 down 38, BRK (Q3), ECTX
