Observation: Hatcher Pass

Route & General Observations

Count the glide slides! We got as low as 27 glides and as high as 50.

Temps were above freezing, no wind. Supportable crust lower down, and south face held 2″ heavy windblown powder/crust/slush above 3000′. Just a mess.

Substantial snow base above 3000′! Very slim below 2000′.

Poked into north face, appeared to hold ~4″ of heavy powder.

Red flags:
1) recent released and opening glide cracks.
2) Above freezing temps.
