Route & General Observations

Today we had groups visit Valley of Sin, Microdot, $1000 and the Death Traverse. Beautiful day with great light and clear skies at dusk. Rough skiing, but we were skiing, and skiing is always fun.

Observer Comments

We found wind loading but it seemed to be a few days old. No shooting cracks or positive results on test slopes

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

Cloudy that went to clear, light to moderate winds, high 20's.

Snow surface

Variable. Supportive facet skiing, sastrugi, windboard, and breakable wind crust.

Snowpack

Variable. Mostly no propagation in pits. We did find propagation in extended column test results in the Valley of Sin where there was fresh windslab 10-20cm thick. We also found propagation on large depth hoar in a few pits at the top of those lower north-facing chutes on Microdot.
