Toured around low elevation terrain in Independence Mine area.

Weather

Mostly sunny to sunny conditions, calm winds less than 5 mph. Temperatures 10s to 20s during the day.

Snow surface

10-20 cm settled snow, wind transport/deposition on local terrain features. Breakable crust 10-20 cm below surface, crust required moderate effort with snow saw to break but was easily broken while skiing.

Snowpack

HS = 150 cm, breakable crust was composed of two melt freeze (?) crust at 139 and 140 cm. CT12Q2 down 25 cm on 1F hard crust (130 cm), break was on 1-1.5 mm poorly formed facets. CT10Q3 and ECTN27 down 80 (70 cm) on 3 mm + facets under 1F hard crust.
