Travelled up from bridge to HP proper , towards April Bowl, on the summer road in stormy conditions.

Some cracking in new storm snow in isolated wind loaded pockets

Weather & Snow Characteristics
Please provide details to help us determine the weather and snowpack during the time this observation took place.
Weather

S1, Winds blowing steady 15-20 mph between 1-3 pm from the W/NW. 5" new snow (0.2" water) between approx. 7am and 3 pm. 12 deg. F at 3850' at 2pm. Temps dropped from 14 deg. F to 0 deg F over 12 hours today.

Snow surface

Significant wind transport of today's new snow- about 4-5 inches as of 3 pm. (5 inches new snow at IM as of 8pm 12/28). Winds blew steady and harder in the passes than recorded all day on Marmot Wx station. Snow surface changed from light density pow to being wind sculpted in a couple hours.

Snowpack

HP maintains a weak, poor structure, and rotten base that is widespread. Any new load with the addition of wind will increase avy danger.
