Observation: Hatcher Pass

Route & General Observations

We were skinning up government and looked over at frostbite. A large D2/2.5 avalanche on a southwest aspect ripped down to dirt and blue ice on frostbite. Approximately 400+ feet wide traveled down hill 500 +. Our pits showed stable conditions on a similar aspect. Tracks were right above trigger area. On main ridge above mile 10.

This avalanche happened Fri evening or Saturday morning 3/11-12. Correction on size: Upon closer investigation it is a D2/D2.5
We dont know if it is a natural or was remotely triggered.
