Observer Comments

No CO, No, CR, No AV
Old Glide avalanches from around October 24-27. Widespread, full depth (up to 3'), with long connected crowns up to 1000´ on multiple aspects, generally on steep slopes around 38 degrees, on slopes with smooth ground surfaces such as grasses, occurring from around 3000' up to 4500'.

Weather & Snow Characteristics

Weather

Around 0C between 3-4.5k' late morning to ealry afternoon.
Calm winds
OVC, estimate 11k´ceiling with clearing in the early AM 0430-0530, increasing clouds slowly through the day.

Snow surface

Some rimed partially settled crystals, needles, new snow.
Fist hard HN 5cm @ 3000', 10-15cm @ 4000'.

Snowpack

HS 60-100cm.
Free water running under snow and collecting in small creeks on slopes.
Moist to wet snow at the base of the snowpack. Crown profile on Eldo Test lope revealed poor structure, 5cm F hard round snow at ground, with cohesive slab 60-100cm on top, ECTPVX2
Several crust layers, rain crusts/lenses, MFCs sandwiched by softer rounding grains. No propagation results on these layers, ECTNs, but should keep track of these layers for the future. See pit wall pics.
All rounds in snowpack, not a single square, extremely rare.
