Route & General Observations

Toured from Independence Mine parking lot to the base of Cross Hill. When we arrived at the base of Cross Hill, I experienced the loudest Whumph I have heard to this point. We dug a pit and the results are below. To say the snowpack was unstable would be an understatement. We skied back to the car and headed for a second tour at Skeetawk.
