Route & General Observations

Completed the Bomber Traverse in a day and a half. Skinned into Mint Hut the evening of the 9th. Snow was mostly sun crust at Mint but we did not go onto the glacier. Backdoor gap was surprisingly great snow and was an easy skin. No roller balls or wet slides yet…prime conditions!

We then stopped at the Bomber Hut. Snow on the Bomber glacier looked more wind affected but hard to tell from far away. Snowbird has excellent conditions for skiing!

Did not see any new avalanche activity on traverse. A few old storm snow avalanches were noted throughout…one appeared to have broken into the persistent weak layer but the rest did not.
