Snow Stories – Oct 26th Bear Tooth Theater – still tickets available!

Tickets are going fast for the 5th annual Snow Stories fundraiser at the Bear Tooth Theater on October 26! This year we'll have stories from mountain guide and local author Joe Stock, forecaster John Sykes, and ski-every-month-er Heather Johnson, plus forecast center director Wendy Wagner will say a few words on stage. 2023 – 2024 Avalanche Education Scholarships

Several Avalanche Education Scholarships are available for the 2023/24 winter season.  These scholarships are through endowments in the memory of Amy Downing (scholarships for women) and Rob Hammel (a recreation and professional scholarship) along with eight additional scholarships in partnership with the Alaska Avalanche School. The Avalanche Center is HIRING!

Big changes are on the horizon for the Chugach NF Avalanche Center. Up to two new avalanche specialists are being hired to assist with avalanche forecasting and outreach for the Kenai Peninsula as well as one avalanche specialist/professional observer to be hired for the Anchorage Front Range (Chugach State Park).
