Route & General Observations

Standard up track to about 2300’, tree line. Looking to see how low the bar could be set for touring in the new storm snow.

Some rollerball activity but for most part new snow was staying in place.

12:30 @ 1000’ 33 degrees snowing heavy, wind 15 mph
13:00 @ 2300’ 32 degrees snowing, wind SE 20 mph

Snow Characteristics

Snow surface

1000’ 4” new wet over dirt and about 20 new saturated snow over dense older snow.
1200’ - 1800 12” new wet dense snow over form base
2300’ 14 - 16” of dense new snow. Some wind effect occurring.

Snowpack

No pits but hand pit gave no results and seemed to be glued to older snow.
Tried pushing on some rollover with little reaction.
New snow very heavy and formed piles and wedges in front while skiing steep rolls very easily.
