Route & General Observations

Normal uptrack to Tincan Common. Short lap of Common, then a full lap all the way out. Snow line was barely 50ft from the cars.
Forecast was for snow/rain and heavy clouds, but sunshine shone through almost the whole time while squalls passed over The Arm and Summit Lake around us.

Red Flags

Observer Comments

None. amazingly stable snow. No roller balls, no naturals or point releases. minimal ski or boot penetration. surprising.

Weather

Weather

Seattle Ridge weather station was reading low 30's F and Sunburst was reading high 20's F, but it felt much warmer than that. Center Ridge was reading mid-40s at this time and that's what it felt like even though we were 1000ft higher. So, while Sunburst says it didn't get above freezing, there was definitely melt/percolation going on in the snow pack.
Very light winds, storm clouds all around but a hole of sunshine on central Turnagain Pass all day.

Snow Characteristics

Snow surface

wonderful cream cheese, day old corn that didn't freeze. made for excellent skiing.
