Route & General Observations

Additional avalanche activity since 4/5…Significant avalanche activity D-2 to 2+ on Colorado Peak, Summit Peak, Butch, Templeton(AKA Creator), Raven Ridge, Gilpatrick, and John. Additional avalanches activity on Tritip and Tenderfoot Ridge as well. SPRINGTIME WARM UP AND RAIN HAS PUT US INTO A VERY ACTIVE AVALANCHE CYCLE IN THE SUMMIT LAKE AREA AS WELL AS OTHER AREAS IN THE SOUTHERN KENAI MOUNTAINS. TEMPERATURES MID 40S RAIN/WET SNOW AT HIGHER ELEVATIONS.
Pictures to follow once I get them off my phone. But these avalanches seen today could easily bury you and in some cases very deep.

Avalanches on all aspects! Multiple gullies running with up to 6 avalanches per mountain. Recent large avalanches were observed on East aspects as well as South and West. Isothemic snowpack with rain...
