Snow Characteristics

Snow surface

2-4" of soft snow with 6-8mm surface hoar on top until around 1500' then transitioned to soft snow with a mini wind skin (dappled) to ridge line.
From road level to around 1350' there is a melt-freeze crust under the soft snow that is degrading.
Overall surface snow is becoming faceted from cold temperatures.

Snowpack

Dug one pit at 3000', west aspect, 30 degrees. HS:170. Dug down just over a meter. No buried surface hoar in pit. No notable results in stability tests.
