Route & General Observations
Up the ridge, had to dirt-walk for a few hundred vert. Then skinning in totally rotten snow pack. Ski penetration in was often shin deep in slush. Skiing was pretty bad, though funny. Face plants occurred when we augured knee deep and hit dirt with our skins when trying to turn too hard.
Obvious signs of instability
|Recent Avalanches?||Yes||Collapsing (Whumphing)?||No||Cracking (Shooting cracks)?||No|
Wet slide activity all around, and it was warm and sunny, even late in the evening. We set off a few wet-sluffs, but I think our generally low slope angle kept it low.
