Route & General Observations

Bluebird; 20F; surface hoar from road to 2300’ and beyond, 0.5 – 2 cm, smaller in open more winded meadows
Old pinwheels from pre-New Years warm storm (1700-1850’); 5-10 cm new snow over breakable MF crust to 1800’ then supportable 4cm crust

multiple collapses from 5-50’ radius, one w/ subtle crack we excavated approx. 30 cm to advanced facet layer
observed small windslab (D 0.5) off peak 2 mounts North of Manitoba, also cornice triggerred windslab in PMS bowl R1

Severe clear; active transport off higher peaks from ENE wind: Silvertip,Twin Peaks, Spirit Walker @1300h. Saw similar transport driving through TP and above Skookum driving home

surface hoar over 5-10 cm new snow on top of variable MF crust, thinner in open meadows w/ evidence of general N to S cross slope prevailing winds at our elevations

Total ht. 47cm, multiple Crusty sandwiches w/ sugar sweet facet filling; see pit book
30* ENE slope: CT 11, 12 on adv. facets @13cm; PST 40 full propagation sudden collapse, moderate energy
ECTX 17@5m on basal facets
